FAQ

What are you doing to prevent the spread of COVID-19?
- The boat will be wiped down extensively with sanitizing wipes between tours.
- Guests will confirm they have not had any symptoms or have been exposed to anyone that has tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 14 days.
How long is a Cycleboat Tour?
Each standard Cycleboat tour is 90 minutes long.
Can I bring drinks aboard?
Yes! Riders who are of age are welcome to bring soft drinks, beer, wine or seltzer to enjoy on their Cycleboat ride. We have ice packs, coolers and cup holders on board to make sure you always have a cold drink on hand. Please keep in mind that any drinks brought aboard (opened or unopened) may not leave the boat, so manage what you bring accordingly. This should go without saying, but we’re going to say it anyway: you must be 21 or older (and have the ID to prove it) if you plan on drinking an alcoholic beverage on the Cycleboat.
Do we need a reservation?
We strongly recommend you make reservations beforehand, especially if you're a larger group. However, reservations are not required, you can book online the day of. If you're feeling lucky and spontaneous you can even pay at the dock right before a tour(if seats are available).
Is It Hard To Pedal?
Not at all! Our riders always comment on how surprisingly EASY the Cycleboat is to pedal, especially compared to Pedal Trolley's on the street! We can raise and lower the paddlewheel to increase or decrease speed and resistance. We also have a motor, if you get tired.
Where Do We Meet For Our Cycleboat Experience?
HOBOKEN: Shipyard Marina Dock C19. Entrance Gate to the right of P1ER 13(next to the dog park) JERSEY CITY: Across from the Surf City entrance - ABC Dock, look for the Blue cycleboat flag. See our Contact Us page for exact picture locations.
Do You Make Any Stops?
No, we have a bathroom onboard for emergencies but we request that you go beforehand.
How Many Passengers Can Fit On The CycleBoat?
26 (for public cruises we limit the boat to 22 passengers). When booking a private tour each guest over 22 people will incur an additional fee. Our New Cycleboat has 12 pedal stations seated around a central bar and additional seating for non-pedalers or those who would like a break from pedaling. There is also plenty of room to stand up and walk around. If 8 seats are not booked for a particular cruise by 8PM the night before we reserve the right to cancel the tour and issue refunds.
Can I put down a deposit to hold a reservation slot and pay in full later?
Unfortunately at this time we only hold reservation slots that are paid in full. We would recommend booking in advance to secure your slot and then cancelling before a penalty would be imposed if necessary.  We also realize that booking a full boat can be expensive for one person and encourage the person booking to recoup funds from other participants ASAP via cash sending apps.
What Is Your Cancellation Policy?
Our standard cancellation policy is as follows: Full boat - Cancellations must be made at least 30 days prior to the tour for a refund. Cancellations made more than 7 days prior to your tour, but less than 30 days in advance, will receive a voucher for a future tour. Any cancellations made within 7 days of your tour or no shows will NOT be entitled to a refund. Individual Tickets - Cancellations must be made at least 10 days prior to the tour for a refund. Cancellations made more than 3 days (72 hours) prior to the tour, but less than 10 days in advance, will receive a credit for a future tour. Any cancellations made within 72 hours of your tour or no shows will NOT be entitled to a refund.
Can I Tip the Captain and Deckhand?
Our boat captains and deckhands work very hard to ensure you have the best possible experience. While tipping is certainly not required, if our crew shows you a good time and you’re feeling tipsy, please feel free to show them you are happy with their service! No cash? No problem, our crew has their own Venmo account!
What if I am late the day of my Cycleboat Ride?
We strongly recommend planning to arrive at least 15 minutes early for your Cycleboat ride. For a public tour the boat will leave on time (without you). If you have booked the full boat, we will wait to leave but it will shorten your tour because we have a daily schedule to keep.
Is parking available?
HOBOKEN: There is some street parking and several parking garages available, we would recommend taking a cab or public transportation though. JERSEY CITY: Yes! Large parking lot $10 to park.
Can I Bring Food Onboard?
Yes, snacks are great or anything you can eat with one hand (i.e. sandwich). Anything that requires a fork and knife is probably not a good idea
Are Children Allowed Onboard?
Yes! Children 8 and older are allowed onboard for private full boat cruises. For public tours guests must be 13 and older. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 25.
What Happens If We Have Bad Weather On The Day Of Our Cycleboat Cruise?
The Cycleboat pedals rain or shine thanks to a protective canopy that covers the boat. In the case of extreme weather including thunder, lightning or high winds, the captain has the authority to cancel the tour. Riders will be provided with a credit to book another day. Your safety is our top priority.
Do You Provide Life Jackets?
While our service is here to provide you with a fun filled time, your safety is our number one priority. Each of our Cycleboats have been inspected and certified by the U.S. Coastguard and are equipped with all necessary safety equipment including life preservers for adults and children.
